WHICH LAPTOP IS BEST FOR YOU?
We live in a world where smartphones, tablets, and smart watches are common and people talk about them regularly. But, despite all of these advancements, the humble laptop has remained, and for a good reason. When it comes to working, whether it’s editing photos, writing a lot of emails, composing documents, or staying in touch with coworkers and family, we’re here to help you find the best laptop for the job. The best laptop should have an excellent keyboard and track pad, as these are the two main reasons you’d choose a laptop over a smartphone or tablet.

LENOVO THINKPAD X1 CARBON (GEN 9):
BEST FOR OFFICE USE
The 9th Gen edition of Lenovo’s flagship business laptop has a number of welcome changes. Longer battery life (15 hours) powerful quad speakers, a new 14-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and plenty of ports are all included, all in an impossibly light chassis (2.5 pounds).
But it’s the classic ThinkPad features that elevate the X1 Carbon to greatness: a rugged design (MIL-STD-810G strength), best-in-class keyboard, and stealthy black/red aesthetics.
Yes, we wish the ThinkPad X1 Carbon had a better webcam and hadn’t dropped the SD card reader. Furthermore, premium configurations can be quite costly; however, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better business laptop.

And the device lasted an average of 10 hours on a charge, which is one of the best results we’ve ever seen.
The Spectre has a large 3:2 display on the outside, and if FHD resolution isn’t your thing, there are OLED and 1,000-nit options as well. There’s even a stylus included, which magnetically attaches to the Spectre’s side — useful if you’re using it as a tablet. Almost every other feature of this laptop, from its comfortable keyboard and smooth touchpad to its bass-heavy audio and practical port selection, is comparable to or better than the best convertibles on the market.

MACBOOK PRO 13 (LATE 2020):
The MacBook Pro has a slightly different design and appearance than the MacBook Air, as well as a few extra features such as the Touch Bar. However, they both use the same processor. The main difference is that the Pro has a fan (while the Air does not), allowing it to handle heavy workloads for longer periods of time without having to throttle its performance. Unless you’re regularly pushing heavy tasks for long periods of time, you won’t notice much of a performance difference between the two MacBooks.
If that’s the case, however, the Pro is the way to go. We were able to run a number of large Premiere Pro exports with no noticeable lag. In a 30-minute loop of Cinebench R23, the Pro outperformed the Air by a significant margin; the scores were closer after a single run.
